Abstract

The disposal of dead animals used in experiments is crucial for maintaining public health, safety, and environmental protection. The regulatory framework, disposal techniques (incineration, autoclaving, landfill disposal, cremation), pre-disposal protocols, biosecurity and environmental concerns, documentation, and institutional policies pertaining to the disposal of dead animals are all summarized in this publication. It is stressed to abide by local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations, including the Animal Welfare Act and NIH recommendations. Adequate disposal tactics reduce the likelihood of disease transmission, protect the environment, and guarantee ethical research procedures.
